Welcome to the Dance Gypsy’s

Help Page for Users

Hello Dance Gypsy Visitor !

First: What is a user?

I use the term “user” to refer to those people who have accounts on the Dance Gypsy. Although anyone may use most of the dance Gypsy services, only users can directly update the information that appears on these pages. To become a user and update information you must first register. after registering you may log into up date information as often as you wish .

Who may update?

Each user can update the information that describes him or herself . In the future users will also be able to update information about their band, their dance or festival or their organization.

Getting more help

Each page on the site has help sections — viewable by clicking on the associated symbol Get Help

Why can’t I represent my data in any way I wish?

The data is kept in a data base . Each performer or band has over 50 pieces of information. Some for display and some for helping others find the performer. Each entry as it appears on the web pages is generated fro this data base. It does not actually saved in the format as seen. This enables the DG to provide similar information about each performer and event and to do so in a uniform manner .

May I update information for my partner or friend?

No. at the moment you may only update your own information.

When I display performers, no “pin” appears on the map for me.

The map pins are based on your geographical information. If we do not have both your town and state, we cannot estimate your location very well. Although if we have the state or province we will make an educated guess as to your location based on where other performers live in that state /province.
